Underwood Chart History

Fans just can’t get enough of Carrie Underwood. Maybe it’s her vivacious smile, or the fact that she loves to collect bunnies and Carebears, but whatever power she possess over her audience they are captivated by here in a trance like state. This is good news for Underwood, as her fans have allowed her to recently break country chart history.

Her new single release “So Small” is now the highest-debuting single by any country female artist in the history of Nielsen BDS. Her single has spread like wild fire, currently being played on over 128 radio stations across the nation. Though this recent news is a big deal for Underwood, the country star has other rewards coming her way very soon as well.

Carrie’s “Before He Cheats” video has gained her a nomination for “best new artist” at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards. The video, produced by Randy Brewer and Roman White, was an instant success and features a sultry, vengeful, Underwood singing the catchy ballad all the while looking perfectly composed. The video is a perfect combination of poise, anger, and confidence, which has transformed the song into a source of inspiration for many of her fans.

Fellow nominees for the prestigious award include Amy Windhouse, Gym Class Heroes, Lily Allen and Peter Bjorn and John. The music awards will air on September 9th, 2007, live from Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. While the other nominees are more than worthy of this title, Underwood’s fans are anxiously rooting her own, hoping that this small town girl will bring a bit of retribution to the MTV scene.
