LeAnn Rimes on Film Set

LeAnn Rimes is no stranger to the film world, the singer/actress has previously starred in the film “Coyote Ugly” playing the part of – herself. But, sometime next year Rimes fans all over the globe will be able to see her smiling face in the new film “Good Intentions.” Rimes will play the younger sister of a woman who turns to the criminal world in order to fund her son’s education. Although this may be a leap for Rimes, she is well surrounded by veteran actors including Elaine Hendrix (‘The Parent Trap) and Luke Perry (Beverly Hills 90210).

The recent trend of switching careers from singing to acting isn’t one that has been long standing in the country music genre, but it seems to be one career change that is rapidly increasing. In addition to Rimes, Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire have also started to include acting as an asset on their résumé’s. In fact, this trend has become so popular that many agents and producers are starting to believe it may be the way to go after all.

The logic behind a move such as this is that while fans can be reached through the music world, other fans might emerge from the movie crowd. LeAnn seems to know how to reach more than the music and movie world though, this country star has also recently published a children’s book about a timid little Jaguar named “Jag,” which has received rave reviews from parents and critics alike. If anyone knows how to reach nearly every fan available, it’s LeAnn Rimes. Look for her new movie coming to theaters sometime next year.
