John Rich has recently auctioned off his much sought after Corvette in order to donated the proceeds to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville. The car was featured in Corvette Quarterly and should fetch a large amount of money, which the children’s hospital could really use. John Rich has always been a bit of an outsider – someone to try something just a little bit different once in awhile. After his original band “Lonestar” failed to gather a large following, John attempted to go solo, but his record company decided not to release his album. Having faith in himself, not in the record company, Rich formed the MuzikMafia that included other greats such as Kenny Alpin, Gretchen Wilson, James Otto, and Jon Nicholson. This team of country outlaws played exclusively in the small Nashville bar called the Pub of Love. During this time, Rich also helped Wilson and other country legends write their songs. The singers and songwriters were an instant hit, and the rest – as they say – is country music history.
